The Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe and The Santa Fe Downtown Kiwanis Foundation announces that tickets
for Will Shuster's Zozobra™ will be available in late July 2008.

Will Shuster's Zozobra™ is the Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe's major fundraiser. Proceeds
generated from Will Shuster's Zozobra™ are used to provide college scholarships to local high
school seniors, grants to local non-profits who focus on the children and youth of Santa Fe and an
endowment fund. The goal of the endowment is to guarantee that the scholarships granted will always
be funded. The Kiwanis currently fund 22 scholarships and present grants to about 20 local
non-profits. The Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe wishes to thank our local business partners who help
distribute tickets to the public. Tickets are $5.00 in advance for everyone age 6 and above and
$10.00 the night of the event for everyone age 6 and above. Ray Valdez, Event Producer for Will
Shuster's Zozobra™ asks everyone, "To please purchase your tickets in advance. Don't wait until the
night of the best show in Santa Fe to buy your ticket."

Band Schedule
This is the 84th burning of Will Shuster's Zozobra™. Gates will open at 2:00 PM and entertainment
will begin at 3:00 PM.
- Bands scheduled to perform this year are:

- Mariachi Buenaventura
The After burn will be announced and the to be announced band will perform after the Old Man
Burns! Fiesta Royalty from the Santa Fe Fiesta Council and Don Diego De Vargas are also scheduled
to appear. Don't miss out on the greatest family community event in Santa Fe!

Zozobra merchandise booth will be on the Plaza at the Labor Day Weekend Art Fair and Fiesta
Weekend following the Burn!
Handicap Parking Passes
Handicap Parking is on a first come first serve basis and entry to the venue is through the gate
at Bishops Lodge Road and Artist Road (the entrance to the recreational complex). All people in
the vehicle must have a ticket and a valid State or City issued handicap parking pass. The Gate
will open at 2:00 P.M. and the road will close sometime after 5:00 P.M.. No reservations will be
taken.
Gloom Information
The gloom auditions will be held at 9am at Fort Marcy Park (the Zozobra Pole) on Saturday, August
23rd, 2008. Ages 10 to 14 only! Proof of age required. Adult chaperone volunteers will be signed
up that day.
Zozobra Art Show
An art show featuring Zozobra inspired art is now being juried. All age categories and art forms
will be considered. Please call the Zozobra Hotline to inquire.
Zozobra Gloom Box
The Official Will Shuster's Zozobra™ Gloom Box is proudly hosted this year by The Santa Fe
Reporter! Letters and other small items that you wish to be included in the burn can be dropped
off at the Reporter offices on Marcy Street up to the day of the event! At the event you can
bring items to the Reporter Gloom Box which will be located next to the Band Stage.
WILL SHUSTER'S ZOZOBRA ON BROADCAST TV and WEB CAST
KOB-TV 4 and the Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe have reached an agreement to offer the second live
broadcast the Burning of Will Shuster's Zozobra on television throughout central New Mexico. The
broadcast on Thursday, September 4 will be carried live on Pinpoint 4 Weather Plus, which is
available free with an antenna on Channel 4-2 for anyone with a digital TV tuner. Pinpoint 4
Weather Plus is also available on Comcast Channel 208. The broadcast will provide thousands of
viewers, including all of the Albuquerque metro area, a chance to experience the Burning of Will
Shuster's Zozobra live for the second time on television. The event has previously only been
available on Santa Fe Comcast Cable Channel 16 in the Santa Fe area. The broadcast is currently
scheduled for 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on September 4. A simulcast will also be available as a live
video stream online at KOB.com. This will be the 84th Burning of Will Shuster's Zozobra, the
traditional opening of the Fiesta de Santa Fe. Zozobra, or Old Man Gloom, is burned in effigy to
symbolically dispel the hardships and travails of the past year.
